Civil Engineering is one of the core branches of engineering. As the name implies- “CIVIL”, the branch mainly deals with fulfilment of basic necessities of human being. Civil engineers build the world’s infrastructure. In doing so, they quietly shape the history of nations around the world. Most people cannot imagine life without the many contributions of civil engineers to the public’s health, safety and standard of living. Only by exploring civil engineering’s influence in shaping the world we know today, can we creatively envision the progress of our tomorrows. Civil engineering focuses on the infrastructure of the world in which the important field are construction engineering, irrigation engineering, transportation engineering, soils and foundation engineering, geodetic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and coastal and ocean engineering. Apart from development of infrastructural facilities, it has also become a sector that encompasses around 50 % funds in national economy. Growth of population and urbanization invited new problems in urban planning such as water supply, waste management, transportation and global warming. To overcome these problems and to build tomorrow’s India, role of Civil Engineer has vital importance even in the era of information technology.

The Civil Engineering Department was established in year 2010 with intake 60 and currently having 180 intake of students. Civil Engineering Department having the young experienced and dedicated teaching faculty in all specialisation of various disciplines of Civil Engineering. It has well equipped laboratories according to the norms. The department has its own Civil Engineering is organising lectures by various experts in their respective field, group discussions, competitions, sports and various other extra-curricular and cultural activities so that there would be an holistic all round development of students.
