The ISHRAE student members of JSCOE along with Prof. Aditya Bawane visited KCPL on Friday, 24th July 2015. Guest lecture delivered by Mr. Ahtesham Khan, he taught the basics required for understanding of VCR cycle & different types of chillers. Then the OATHS ceremony for ISHRAE student – President, Secretary, Treasurer and student CWC, held by former ISHRAE Chairman. Later on while visiting the plan, students saw & understand the different types of chillers with different capacities guided by Mr. Ahtesham Khan & Mr. Sandeep Nichal. Infact this is innovative idea of student committee installation along with they got Real life experience. Students got benefited from practical point of view.


JSCOE ISHRAE STUDENTS along with Prof. Aditya S. Bawane & Prof. Onkar R. Dhepe visited to SHIVRAJ COLD STORAGE on 12th September 2015. This plant has a two different cold storage. Students had a conversation with the expert person from industry & along with visual impact students got the knowledge of overall cold storage plant.


TechnoCHILL 2016

JSCOE ISHRAE CHAPTER PUNE organized the event- TechnoCHILL 2016 dated on 17thJan 2016 in association with ISHRAE PUNE CHAPTER. Prof. Dr. P.A. Patil (HOD Mech JSCOE) & Prof. Aditya S. Bawane was the Event Head. Students from different colleges participated in different events namely Paper Presentation / Project Ideas / Technical Quiz. From JSCOE ISHRAE, Santosh katkar from got 2nd prize in Paper Presentation as well as in Technical Quiz & Abhinav Kumar & Krushna Nalange got 3rd prize in Technical Quiz Competition.

Scholarship Gained By ISHRAE Students.

Durga Devi Charitable Trust, Pune In association with ACR Consultants Pvt. Ltd have organized a scholarship programme for engineering students, studying Refrigeration & A.C. at MMCOE on 10th March 2016.
The interview was taken by the expert persons from industry on RAC & its application. JSCOE ISHRAE members & other ISHRAE members were participated in that. JSCOE students got the two scholarships out of four. The following students got the scholarship:

1) Sandeep Walke (Rs. 20,000/-)
2) Hole Kaweri (Rs. 10,000/-)

Various Event organized by MESA in AY 2015-16

Teacher & Parent’s Meet:- our entire department organizing the Teacher & Parents meets every year for SE students. This year also TPM was held on 23.08.2015, in which parents and teacher interchange their views for better future of their ward. All students chapter In-charge share their views to the parents for student’s bright future.

National Service Scheme (NSS)
NSS Regular Activities for 2015-16


During academic year span 2015-2016, NSS unit of Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering, Hadapsar, Pune have participated in various activities such as Blood donation camp, Traffic duty, Swachha Bharat Abhiyan etc. Glimpses of such activities are highlighted below.

  1. Speech on “Social Awareness and Responsibilities to reduce Social Inequality” and fund raising for Anathashram
    On 15th September 2015, was organized on the topic “Social Awareness and Responsibilities to reduce Social Inequality” for students and staff members. Speech was delivered by Dr. Shyam Mude (Social Worker and Philosopher). Chief guest for program was Shrimati Sindhutaai Sapkaal (Maai) who motivated students and staff members through her speech. Fund raising program was conducted in college for helping children at Sindhutaai Sapkal Anathashram. Fund of Rs 45,000 was raised through contribution of students and staff members. Also help in the form of food, clothes and toys, stationary was conveyed to anathashram.
  2. Traffic Duty in Ganesh Visarjan
    On 27th  September 2015, on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan Miravnuk, traffic duty activity was performed by NSS Unit of Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering at Hadapsar.
    NSS volunteers worked under the guidance of officials of Mohammadwadi Police Chowky.
    On the day before activity, the police officer gave the guidance to volunteers about the way to handle traffic and the way to deal with people effectively. Refreshment was offered by the police officers. From NSS unit of college, 13 volunteers ( 9 boys , 4 girls) participated in activity. The area allotted for traffic duty was area near Sasanenagar railway crossing. Due to railway crossing and narrow road width, said area is always prone to traffic. Team of volunteers was divided intotwo sections for efficient execution. The working time for traffic duty was from 4 pm to 12 pm.
    Police officer appreciated team work and task execution of all volunteers.
  1. Swachha Bharat Abhiyan (Participation in Swachhata Karandak 2016)
    The NSS unit of the JSCOE, participated in cleanliness competition called “Swachhata Karandak” organised by Samarth Bharat Vyaspeeth Swachha Bharat Abhiyan during 12thJanuary to 16th  January 2016 for 5 days. Unit had been allotted with the area ranging from Gandhi Chowk to Hadapsar Gadital.
  2. Environmental Awareness Special Program
    On  8th   January  2016,  NSS  unit  of  JSCOE  organised  special  program  regardingen vironmental awareness for volunteers as well as for students in college auditorium through“Square One Events” associated with Kirloskar-Vasundhara foundation. Delegates from same had delivered seminar regarding environmental awareness and conducted short film screening activity to emphasize importance of environmental awareness.
  1. Blood Donation Camp
    On 18th February 2016, a blood donation camp was organized by the NSS in the Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering at Hadapsar for the Gholap Blood Bank, Pune in the presence of Dr. M. G. Jadhav (Principal, JSCOE), Dr. V. A. Bugade (Director, Hadapsar Campus), Prof. Sanjay Sawant (Assistant Director), Prof. Ashish Lagad (NSS Program Officer). The inauguration was done by the Dr. M. G. Jadhav. Nearly 120 students and staff members donated blood. Refreshment was offered by MESA members and NSS volunteers. Certificates were given to donors. NSS volunteers were divided into various committees for the easy functioning of the program. Doctors from blood bank were also present if any donor required any further medical help after donating blood. The program was conducted efficiently with team work.
  1. Free Health Checkup and Seminar on “Importance of Health Check for Women”
    On the occasion of Women’s Day 08th March 2016, seminar was organized for ladies teaching and non teaching staff members as well as female students on the topic “Importance of Health Check for Women.” Medical experts and dietician shared thoughts related with women health and maintenance of healthy diet.

About MESA :

MESA, the Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association of JSPM’s Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering, Pune aims to play a pivotal role in the development of students as engineers by conducting various extra-curricular activities. MESA aims to inculcate among its members an awareness and appreciation of various disciplines in not only Mechanical Engineering but also other relevant fields. Through its activities the association aims to be a common platform for all the students of JSCOE in general and especially for the students of Mechanical department. MESA seeks to be an active organization of the Mechanical department at JSCOE which promotes the students career interests. The group continuously works for the overall development of the personality of the students in addition to their academic responsibilities. MESA gives wings to those planning to fly high and wanting to achieve excellence in their fields of interest.

The MESA has a responsibility to provide the following to its member:

  1. To organize academic activities with the intention of improving the knowledge and experience of members in the diverse areas of Mechanical Engineering.
  2. To organize recreational and social activities amongst the member in order to foster comradeship and allow the exchange of ideas in an informal atmosphere.
  3. To represent the interest of Mechanical Engineering students before the Department and to the College.
  4. To promote friendship and co-operation among members.
  5. To provide a communication link between the members and the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
