Academic Year 2017-18

A one Day Workshop Report on “English Excellence & Public Speaking”:JSCOE IEEE Student branch organized a one day workshop “English Excellence & Public Speaking” on Saturday 02/09/2017 at JayawantSabhaguha from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm for which Resourceperson  Prof. Anthony Thomas(English Academy, Pune) Conducted a workshop.  Prof. Anthony Thomas Elaborated regarding Fluency in English requirement in day to day life. He explained COMPLETE STRUCTURE of the English language and demonstrate studentsto learnFLAWLESS PRONUNCIATION of even the most baffling words in English. The extensively interactive session helps students to understand the importance of flawless English. Sir provided tips for vocabulary development & to ensure the participants will able to speak and write English fluently and confidently. Prof. Anthony Thomas discuss about PUBLIC SPEAKING& 21 ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS for making a brilliant speech, overcoming stage fright, impressive voice modulation, assertive body language and crisp drafting of a speech. Through Audio-video recording and playback student’s practices for Public Speaking. For the workshop more than 100 students from differentdepartment’s like E&TC, Computer, Electrical & IT of class TE & BE attended actively in the workshop.

Outcome: Students learn importance of FLAWLESS PRONUNCIATION and understand to deliver brilliant speech in PUBLIC SPEAKING.

Workshop English Excellence & Public Speaking

E&TC department,  successfully conducted the Interdepartmental activity for B E (E&TC) students at Electrical Department on Friday, 1/9/2017. The activity was organized by III Cell to fulfill the curriculum gap identified in SPPU syllabus of PLC & Automation (Elective – II subject) course. For this activity B.E. (E&TC) students were participated with the concern faculty Prof. P. D. Awate were present. The theory lecturer and practical were conducted in Electrical Department by Prof. Snehal Phand-Sawant.The activity was organized to give the real time exposure to students about Design and implement of the ladder programming for the various Industrial applications. Student gets more practice related to several basic Ladder design examples used in the automation system.  This activity was found useful to the students.

Outcome: Participated students acquired skills for Designing & Simulation of    Ladder Programs with hands on practice in   Laboratory.

Interdepartmental skills activity

E&TC department successfully conducted the technical visit of B E (E&TC) students at Digitech Controls & system Pvt. Ltd. Shivane, Pune on Saturday, 19/8/2017. The visit was organized to fulfill the curriculum gap identified in SPPU syllabus of PLC & Automation (Elective – II subject) course.  For this visit B.E. (E&TC) students were participated with the concern faculty Prof. P. D. Awate, Prof. B. S. Biradar, & Prof. S. S. Pawar were present for the visit. The visit was organized to give the real time exposure to students about Design and implement of the ladder programming for the various Industrial applications. Student gets more information related to several digital controllers used in the automation system.  This visit was found useful to the students.

 

Technical visit

The Expert Lecture for BE (E&TC) was organized on Monday, 24/07/2017.  The expert lecture was delivered by Mr. Sachin Kadam, Founder-Sachin Kadam & Associates, Pune on “Recent Technology in PLC & SCADA”.  For this lecture total 43 students of BE E&TC were present. The interactive Session was conducted by the speaker, highlighting the use of PLC in the design and development of the smart systems in Industrial Automation. The online demonstration was given to design the Ladder program for various basic and Industrial applications. This demonstration was found fascinating to the students and cleared the doubts of the students while designing such a systems. The different versions of PLC and its significance in system design was explained and found very useful for the students while designing their BE projects.The expert lecture was organized by department of E&TC Engineering and student Association, TESA under the guidance of Head of the Department Dr. D. B. Salunke and Project Coordinator Prof. M. B. Tadwalkar.

Outcome: The students got inspired from the lecture and planned to take projects on PLC.

 

The Expert Lecture for BE (E&TC) was organized on Friday, 07/07/2017.  The expert lecture was delivered by Mr. Shekhar D. Borse, Founder-RASPI INVENT, Dwarka, Nashik on “Industrial IoT and Raspberry Pi”.  For this lecture total 70 students of BE E&TC were present. The interactive Session was conducted by the speaker, highlighting the use of Raspberry Pi in the design and development of the smart systems in Industries and Home Automation. The online demonstration was given to control the home appliances at his company site while sitting in the department at our institute. This demonstration was found fascinating to the students and cleared the doubts of the students while designing such a systems. The different versions of Raspberry Pi and its significance in system design was explained and found very useful for the students while designing their BE projects.The expert lecture was organized by department of E&TC Engineering and student Association, TESA under the guidance of Head of the Department Dr. D. B. Salunke and Project Coordinator Prof. M. B. Tadwalkar.

 

Expert Lecutre

Faculty Development program at the start of Academic Year 2017-18: This workshop is intended to prepare course and Laboratory manual for outcome based
education program by conducting exhaustive brain storming sessions. The main aim of this
workshop is to make participants familiar with new techniques and advances in teaching learning process in engineering. In this workshop, the features of the New Outcome Based accreditation process will be discussed. Contents of the workshop included introduction to outcome based education, philosophy of outcome based accreditation, adaptive teaching learning process, curriculum design for course enrichment, design of assessment tools and evaluation process and ICT based Course and Laboratory preparation

Faculty Development program

E&TC department  organized Department Advisory Board meeting for defining current and future issues related to program, recommendations for the proposals/requirements for effective implementation of OBE, defining various assessment tools for measuring outcomes .Evaluation of the attainment of CO, PO and necessary improvements. Meeting attended  by  Mr.  Shrikant Shete, Director Anka Technologies(Industry person), Mrs. Nazmeen Awati (parent representative), Mr.Pramod Hore, HR-Manager, Vishay Components India Pvt.Ltd. (Industry person), AditiChavan (Alumni), were present with Dr. D. B. Salunke (HOD), PAC members, Module coordinators were present for the meeting.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2016-17

TDCS-2016: Technology Dissemination Contest for Students (TDCS-2016) was organized by JSPM’s
Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering IEEE Student Branch in association with IEEE Pune
Section Education Society chapter. Main objective of TDCS is to use Engineering college
students to disseminate information about emerging technologies among Rural and Urban
high School children and to create interest in them. TDCS also works as a platform for the
participating college students to experiment with different modern educational tools and use
their innovativeness in using the tools effectively.

Expert lecture on topic “Singapore to Harvard: the Journey” delivered by E&TC department Ist Batch Alumni Dr. Anant Shinde, who has been awarded Doctoral Degree in  Optical Imaging  from NTU , Singapore.  Recently he is joining Harvard University for neural research. The lecture was attended by T.E. and B.E students of E&TC Department on 03/04/2017.

Academic Year 2015-16

The Seminar “Future in E&TC” was organized by Dept. of Electronics on 25 th Aug 2015. A resource person Mr. Abhijit Murgunde and Mr.Saurabh Todkar, Emmerson private  limited, were invited for this session. The session started with felicitation of guest by Prof.M.B.Tadwalkar and Prof.C.Manjare at 10.45a.m. in Virtual Classroom. Almost 175 students of B.E.(E&TC) attended this session.

Report of Expert Lectures Organized for SE for subject DSA

A Expert lecture Program of Subject- Data Structures and Algorithms  for the Topic- Dynamic Memory Allocation- Linked Lists for Duration of  2Hrs on Date: 28/08/2015 at Venue- Room No: 506, B-Building for SE (A, B & Regular Div)  from  9-11AM  was scheduled. Prof. D.R. Patil, Assistant Professor in computer Department, JSCOE was the speaker who has guided students for the topic said. The second expert lecture by Prof. Vrushali Kondhalkar, Assistant Professor in computer Department, JSCOE  on the same subject was also organized and delivered on Date 11/09/2015 for Duration of  2 Hrs to students. The experts have covered topics like basics of C programming, Pointers, Structures and Dynamic Data Structure i.e. Linked Lists etc.

A Expert lecture Program series of Subject- Digital Electronics for the Topic- Introduction to HDLs, PLD and Semiconductor Memories for Duration of  7 Hrs on Dates /09/2015, 8/09/2015, 15/09/2015, 22/09/2015 and 5/10/2015 at Venue- Room No: 412, B-Building for SE (A, B Div)  was scheduled. The projects entitled “Automated Cradle System for Infant care” and “MC & Android based automobile security and safty system” prepared/built by  BE student groups Mannan Jamadar, Ashish Yejare, Vedant Sambhar and Abhishek Palwe, Nigel Pinto, Tulica Dey  guided by Prof. P D Auti and Prof. V V Lembhe respectively won the prizes at Project Expo “Gavity 2k15”National level event held at KJCOE&MR on 28/3/2015  and at State level Theme based project competition “Prakalp’15” held at K J Somaiyya College of Engg.

On 16thof  August 2014, a parent meet was organized by the Dept. of E&TC. All the parents  of the students were invited for the meet. The meeting was  conducted in presence of Principal Dr. Jadhav sir, HOD. Prof. Sardar sir, TPO Ms Priya Madam TESA Coordinaor  Rao sir and project coordinator  Tadwalkar sir. And the entire teaching staff of E&TC department.

On the 19 July 2014, blood donation camp was held in the Jayawantrao Sawant College Of Engineering at Hadapasr for the Poona Blood Bank organised by the TESA and NSS in the presence of the principal Dr.M.A.Jadhav, Mr.Rao Tesa co-ordinator, Mr.Mangesh Chitale NSS co-ordinaror.

2.GMRT had organized a Science Day Exhibition which was held  on 28th February and 1st March 2014at GMRT Observatory, Khodad, Maharashtra. 3.We are pleased to inform that we have successfully conducted the technical visit of B E (E&TC) at SYMBIOSIS Institute of Media & Communication Lawale, Tal- Mulshi,Dist-Pune on 26/03/2014. The visit was organized as a part of their syllabus of Television Video Engineering subject.

  1. On 18thof  January 2014, a parent meet was organized by the Dept. of E&TC. All the parents  of the students were invited for the meet. The meeting was  conducted in presence of Director Dr.K.N.Barbole, Principal Dr. Jadhav, HOD. Prof. Sardar, Prof. Dr. Rao and Prof. Tadwalkar.  Entire teaching and nonteaching staff  of E&TC department was present during the program.

On 17th august 2013, the third year student had organized a freshers welcoming party  for upcomig second year students . The programme’s chief guest  were Prof. Sardar, Dr.Rao and Prof.Tadwalkar. All the staff members including nonteaching members were invited.    The programme began with saraswati pujan by Prof.Sardar sir, Rao sir, Tadwalkar sir and two of student coordinators. Then chief guests were felicitated  by the student coordinators.

Then HOD Prof. Sardar sir was requested to deliver his message to upcoming members of E&TC department family. Then the SE topper Ms.Priyanka Sarode deliver her speech.

7.A Blood donation camp was arranged by E&TC Dept. & NSS on Date:-31/08/2013 Saturday from 9AM-4PM.  Akshy Blood Bank, Pune has organized the setup to carry out the work  under the guidence of Dr. Yogesh Burunde. This camp was organized as a joint venture of TESA and NSS unit of JSCoE as a part of social work training to the young students.The inaugration of the activity was done  by the Principal, JSCoE, Hadapsar,  Dr. M.G. Jadhav , Prof.V. M. Sardar,  HOD E&TC,  Dr. A.P. Rao (Tesa coordinator) & Prof. Sahdev Jadhav (NSS) Coordinator of the Institute   at 10.00 am. At end of the day total no of 77 student had donated their precious blood for this  camp.

8.“Guidance for Carrier Opportunities after Engineering”  seminar was organized on 31st Aug 2013 at 11.00 am in E & TC department. Mr. Manoj Karande alumini of E & TC department guided the students for the above mentioned subject. In overall discussion, he elaborated importance of practical hands-on training, developing a particular skill set related with current technology. He also mentioned about how to prepare for interview, how to search for different carrier opportunities and how to develop overall personality for any kind of interview related with different technologies such as PLC Programming, Telecommunication, Testing, etc. He shares his experience.
His valuable guidance will definitely boost student’s confidence for facing the onwards challenges in life.

9.Parent’s meet Program for SE students is organized by TESA.
After the Welcome of all parents, the Function is inaugurated by  Dr. M.G. Jadhav, Principal, JSCOE in presence of Prof. V.M. Sardar, HOD, Dr.A.P.Rao, TESA Coordinator, Prof. M.B.Tadwalkar,  Professor. Prof.V.M.Sardar, gave introduction of department. Activities conducted & also discussed revised syllabus structure of SE. Dr. M.G. Jadhav gave motivational speech & also emphasize on role of parents in progress of their ward.Some parents express their views also. Vote of thanks was given by Prof. S.K. Jamage. Parents were offered with tea & snacks. In the last session, interaction of parent and GFM is held in which individual parents were exposed to student attendance, mid-term test result, etc. Feedback is taken from parents in the given format.

Academic Year 2012-13
1.The  students From BE E&TC  Mr. Manoj S. Karande & Mr. Devendra B. Jagtap participated in  national level paper presentation competition “TATVA” organized by Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) on 19th Jan and “Techfest” organized by Sinhagad Institute Technology (SIT), Kondhawa on 25th Feb .The students  presented  paper entitled  “SPWM Controlled AC-DC Converter using MATRIX Topology”

2.The students of SE [E & TC] A & B Division had An One Day Industrial visit organized by Department of E&TC. The visit was organized on date 28/02/2013.   They visited the GMRT KHODAT, Narayangaon on the Science Day. During the Visit they have been exposed to the 1. Different types of sections available their like Physisc Chemistry, Electronics, Electrical. 2. On the Scien day there was open exibition of all the equipments and systems. 3. The faculty members of GMRT explained the students the fundament working. 4. The students came across the different types of anteenas and their working. 5. They also highed the project undergoing at GMRT regarding the collecttion of Environmental parameter collection and its analysis.

3.One project group of the project entitled “Intelligent Ambulance With Patient Monitoring” prepared by Raut Purab (4139), Solanki Darshak(4142), Rananavare Akshay(4137) group no. G10, Guided by Prof. A.P.Rao has participated in “Project Competition 2013” arranged by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer, IEEE, Communication Society Chapter, Pune section on 16th march 2013. The students have received positive feedback from IEEE member judges and a certificate of participation on presenting the project in the competition.

The welcome ceremony for SE students is organized by TE students on 04/08/2012, Saturday, at 1.30 PM in the seminar hall. All faculty and Nonteaching have enjoyed the program conducted by students. The program ended with a snacks party at 4PM.

  1. A blood donation camp is organized by TESA in association with NSS unit of JSCoE on 9th Aug. 2012, inaugurated by Principal, Dr.M.G.Jadhav at 10 AM. The activity is sponsored by Lion’s club and 130 students have donated blood.

TESA student members have organized “Teacher’s day”on 5th sept with a cultural program to show the respect towards their teachers. All students, faculty and non-teaching staff have participated in the function that has ended with a Tea-party.

  1. TESA has celebrated An Engineer’s Day on Saturday 15th Sep 2012 with conduction of An Intercollegiate Technical Event “ Tech-Tathawa’-12”. The program begun with an inaugural function in presence of the well-known personalities Mr. Shriram Shinde Assistant Editor Sakal Times, Mr. Prsad Ramdasi, GM, TCS (Embedded system), Pune, Principal Dr. M. G. Jadhav, Dept Head Prof. R. P. Borole, Prof. G. S. Mani, Coordinator of Telecommunication Engineering Student Association (TESA) Dr. A. P. Rao, and the Student coordinator Mr. Kiran Garudkar.

Academic year 2011-12

  1. A welcome party to the new SE TESA student members is organized by the TE students on 30th july 2011 at 2.30 PM in JSIMR hall. The principal of the institute is invited to inaugurate the function. Other principals and Directors are also invited for the program that is concluded with a cultural event and a snacks party.

  2. A blood donation camp through “Acharya anand rishiraj pune blood bank” is organized, sponsored by “Lions club of pune status” on 20-08-2011 at 212 hall of E&Tc department. Prof.M.G.Jadhav, Principal has inaugurated the function at 11 AM. 90 students and faculty has participated in the acivity and  selected 61 students have donated blood. Majority of students were from E&Tc department and about 20% students were from rest of the departments of JSCoE. The organizer of the blood bank was Mr. Yogesh Burande. Lion Shreyas Dixit and Lion Pushkaraj of Lions club of Pune status have distributed the mementoes to the blood doners. Dr. Kharat and team has worked for medical setup for the activity. The student organizers were Saurabh Nanaware, Sudhir Mali, Myrah Pinto and Dhanshree Barbole of TE and H.Khardile, Monika Monali, Pawan Mathadhikari and Swapnil Budde of SE who have taken pains for the success of the function.

    A expert lecture on “Networking and Cisco Certification and international certification with Microsoft & Orecle” is organized for BE students in seminar hall of CSE department at 11 AM. The program details are introduced by Dr.Rao and the function is inaugurated by Head of E&Tc department, Prof. Borole by welcoming the expert speakars with a garland. Mr. Prahar and Mr.Ashutosh from “Kar-Rox Technology Ltd., Pune” were the speakars. Mr.Ashutosh have additionally guided the students about “interview skills”. The function is concluded with a cup of tea.
