[u_heading]COMPETATIONS FOR PARENTS[/u_heading]

Motivation plays an important role in the development of student. There is a lack of intrinsic motivation with today’s generation. Hence extrinsic motivation is the most trusted tool. Keeping this view in mind we started competitions for parents. It not only helped the students in terms of motivation but also helped to develop better understanding with each other.

1) Farm House making Competition

It was held on the occasion of Bail Pola. We must me very thankful to the farmers because of whom we can survive. But unfortunately we mostly ignore their efforts. Hence to understand the hardships of these farmers to make aware about the farming, a farm house making competition was organized for parents. The parents with full of enthusiasm had participated. Used many innovative ideas and displayed their talent through their model. The students could learn a lot through this competition.

2) FORT MAKING COMPETITION

It was held on the occasion of Bail Pola. We must me very thankful to the farmers because of whom we can survive. But unfortunately we mostly ignore their efforts. Hence to understand the hardships of these farmers to make aware about the farming, a farm house making competition was organized for parents. The parents with full of enthusiasm had participated. Used many innovative ideas and displayed their talent through their model. The students could learn a lot through this competition.

3) MODAK DECORATION, CLAY MOULDING AND PICTURE DECORATION COMPETITION

             On the occasion of Ganesh festival. Making of the clay Modak and its decoration, making of a Ganesh statue by clay moulding and decoration of a given picture of Ganapati by pulses were the kind of competitions organized. Parents with full of enthusiasm had participated and showed their creativity. It motivated the students. The students were very happy after seeing the creations of their parents. The exhibition was kept open for the parents and students of JPS.

4) Me and My Father

             It was held for pre primary section’s parents. On the occasion of Ganesh festival. Making of the clay Modak and its decoration, making of a Ganesh statue by clay moulding and decoration of a given picture of Ganapati by pulses were the kind of competitions organized. Parents with full of enthusiasm had participated and showed their creativity. It motivated the students. The students were very happy after seeing the creations of their parents. The exhibition was kept open for the parents and students of JPS.

5) SING WITH FATHER

This was a unique competition organized for the parents of pre – primary section. In this competition a father and a child both had to sing together. The motto behind this competition was to provide the quality time of father to a child as most of the time fathers are busy in their professional career. Around 78% parents had participated everyone was in tears when they came on the stage with their young child. Every parent was happy. All students, teachers and parents enjoyed the programme. Parents received songs, poems, aarti, shlokas, vandemataram and even national and even national anthem. It was all together a different experience for every one of us.

6) ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

This competition was organized in favor of teachers. Every person had a great influence of a teacher in his life .to pay our gratitude towards the teacher and their role in shaping our life. This competition was organized. The topic given for writing easy was “the teacher who changed my life.” Many of the parents of remembered their childhood. Very frankly they wrote about their Miss Chiefs and other problems which they faced. They wrote a lot how their teachers had contributed to change their life.

 All the students and teachers were happy to read this. This was an eye opener for our teachers as well.

             I as a principal, I am very thankful to all the parents those who have participated.
