The palkhi celebration was conducted students from each class were dressed in Vithal, Rukmini attire and some students were dressed as varkaries.
Tree plantation program was conducted in JSPM’S Hadapsar Campus.
The students sang songs during the procession.
AshadhiEkadashi is celebrated in the name of Lord Vitthal.
This holiday is of special significance to Vaishnavas followers of Hindu preserver GOD Vishnu.
It is believed that Vishnu falls asleep in Cosmic Ocean of milk on sheshanaga. AshadhiEkadashi is the beginning of chaturmas.
The fast is observed on Ekadashi. The fast demands abstinence from all grains, beans, cereals, vegetables like onions and certain spices.
The events help the students to know the significance of the festival.
