जागतिक मराठी भाषा दिवस, २७ फेब्रुवारी जे. स. पी. म. चरक कॉलेज ऑफ फार्मसी अँड रिसर्च, वाघोली येथे साजरा केला. हा दिवस मराठी साहित्याचा मानदंड वि.वा.शिरवाडकर यांचा जन्मदिवस, ‘मराठी भाषा दिवस’ म्हणून साजरा केला. त्या दिवशी “लाभले आम्हास भाग्य बोलतो मराठी” हे गीत सादर केले. या निमित्ताने मराठी भाषा दिनाच्या विविध कार्यक्रमात विद्यार्थी, प्राध्यापक (सागर बी वानखेडे), शिक्षक (प्रा निमजे प्रा जंगम, प्रा लोंढे अँड आदी), शिक्षकेतर सहभागी झाले. कार्यक्रमाची सांगता “पसायदान” याने केले.
NSS CAMP (A.Y. 2017-2018)
The theme of NSS camp was “Pharmacist-A Health Care Professional”
National Service Scheme (NSS) Camp was held between 25.12.2017 to 01.01.2018 at Dongargaon Moze,Taluka- Haveli, District- Pune.
The activities carried during this camp are as follows:
Health Check-up camp- Blood sugar levels and Blood Pressure of the villagers was checked and informed to them. All the villagers were counseled with regard to keeping the blood sugar levels in control and effective and safe used of medicines. All the patients suffering from blood pressure/diabetes were counseled to continue taking medicines on regular basis and not to stop medication on their own. The patients were advised to consult pharmacist/doctor for counseling as and when required.
Free medicines were distributed to villagers in presence of doctors.
Students along with villagers worked under the scheme of “Swatch Bharat Abhiyan” in which the area adjoining the school was cleaned. Tree plantation was carried out by the faculty, villagers and school going children in the school premises highlighting the importance of keeping the environment clean.
Digital India Campaign was carried out whereby the importance of digital transactions was conveyed to the villagers. The advantages of digital transactions were specifically highlighted in the campaign.
Campaign on “Save Girl Child”, “Gender Equality”, and “Women Empowerment and Education” were also undertaken. The villagers interacted enthusiastically on these issues of national importance. The students of college prepared a street plays on these issues and played it in different part of the village.
A meeting of NSS student volunteers, faculty and villagers was conducted on the last day to review the activities conducted during NSS camp. The villagers expressed satisfaction about the different activities and specifically appreciated the health check up camp and requested to continue this kind of health check up camps in future also.
The NSS Camp concluded in presence of Village Gram Panchayat functionaries, Principal & faculty of college, Principal, Non-teaching staff and students of the school, and NSS student volunteers of college on 1st January 2018.

Savitribai Phule Pune University Sponsored Two Days National Level Seminar on
“Advances in the Field of Quality Assurance of Pharmaceuticals”
A Two Day’s National National Level Seminar on “Advances in the Field of Quality Assurance of Pharmaceuticals” sponsored by Savitribai Phule Pune University was organized in JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy and Research, Wagholi, Pune. Eminent speakers for industry and academia shared their knowledge and experience during the event. Day 1 began with introductory note by Dr. S. B. Wankhede, Convener of the Seminar. The first scientific session was delivered by Mr. Santosh Palewar, Founder, DocRosh Healthcare on Quality Assurance of Pharmaceuticals: Outlook 2020. Dr. Jaiprakash Sangshetti, Associate Professor, Y. B. Chavan College of Pharmacy elaborated the concept of Quality by Design in Analytical Method Development. Mr. Chetan Halani, Co-Founder & Business Development Head, CT Quest LLP, shared his insights on Quality Assurance in Clinical Research. Day 2 began with Mr. Yogesh Ghodki, Assistant Executive, Ajanta Pharma Limited, sharing the case studies of Quality Assurance in Formulation and Development. Mrs. Neeta Sant, General Manager, Sai Life Sciences, gave a total overview and latest developments in implementation of concept of quality assurance in R&D unit of pharmaceuticals. The last session of day 2 was delivered by Ms. Annie Matthew, Consultant, Jhonson & Jhonson. She shared her insights on implementation of quality assurance and ISO requirements for medical devices. Mr. D. M. Awari proposed the vote of thanks acknowledging participation of all the stakeholders in making this event a success. Prof. T. J. Sawant, Founder Secretary, and Dr. V. A. Bugade, Dr. S. V. JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy and Research has organized Poster Presentation competition and Debate competition on 23rd January 2018 as a part of joint celebrations of Cynosure -2018 by JSPM’s Group, Wagholi Campus, Pune. The objective of the event was to encourage students for self/collaborative learning and improve their presentation and communication skills. The competition began with the inauguration by Dr. Aman Sheikh, Principal, Delight College of Pharmacy, Koregaon Bhīma. The theme for Poster presentation was “Pharmacist: A Healthcare Professional”. Seventy five students from different pharmacy colleges participated in the “Poster Presentation Competition”. The posters were evaluated by Dr. Vaishali Potnis, Professor, Jayawantrao Sawant College of Pharmacy and Research, Hadapsar, Pune. The theme for Debate Competition was “Pharmacists Right: To Write Prescription”. Twenty nine students from different pharmacy colleges participated in the event. Dr. Aman Sheikh, Principal Delight College of Pharmacy, Koregaon Bhima, was present as a Judge for Debate Competition. Ms. Sayali Chandanshive from Rajgad Dnyanpeeth’s, College of Phramacy, Bhor was declared as Winner and Ms. Deepati Varma from Jayawantrao Sawant College of Pharmacy and Research, Hadapsar, Pune secured second position in Poster Presentation Competition. In Debate Competition, UG-Category, Mr. Nimish Panse, AISSPMS, Pune was the Winner and Ms. Sanjana Gawade, JSPM’s,Charak College of Pharmacy and Research ,Wagholi, Pune secured second position. The Cash Prize, Trophy and Certificates were distributed to Winner and Runner by hands of Dr. Vaishali Potnis, Professor, Jayawantrao Sawant College of Pharmacy and Research, Hadapsar, Pune. STATE LEVEL SEMINAR ON "EMERGING TRENDS IN DOSAGE FORM DESIGN”
A one day seminar entitled “Emerging trends in dosage form design” was organized on Friday 22/01/2018 by the department of Pharmaceutics at JSPM’S Charak college of Pharmacy& Research. This seminar was aimed at enlightening the graduate and post graduate students about the current updates in the field of dosage form design in order provide value addition and upgrade their skills in formulation development. The seminar constituted lectures from eminent experts in pharmaceutical industry Dr.Jitendra Amrutkar (General Manager,Technical Services,Ideal Cures Private Limited),Mr. Nitin Kadam (Chief Scientific Officer, Executive Director – Shadow Pharma Venture Pvt. Ltd.) & Dr.Avinash Tekade Professor,(Marathwada Mitra Mandal College Of Pharmacy) who shared their experiences and knowledge and provided guidance towards the current scenario and future trends in the field of dosage form design.

JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research Wagholi, Pune organized Human Anatomy and Physiology model making contest on Saturday 18th November 2017. “Pharma Model Competition” is an event organized to encourage the students for self/collaborative learning. The Competition began with the inauguration by Dr. Dheeraj Nagore, Assistant General Manager, Ari Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., Pune. Twenty five students from different pharmacy colleges participated in the Competition. The evaluation was done by the panel of experts. The Winner of the Competition was Mr. Gosavi Revon, Sitabai Thite College of Pharmacy, Shirur and Runner up was Mr. Lunkad Abhijeet, JSPM’s, Charak College of Pharmacy and Research, Wagholi, Pune. Participation certificates were distributed to all the students who participated in the event.
WORLD HEPATITIS DAY
“World Hepatitis Day” was celebrated on 28th July 2017 at JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research. The theme of awareness program was “ELIMINATE HEPATITIS”. Students created awareness in JSPM’s institutes like Imperial College of Engineering, BhivarabaiSawant Institute of Technology and Research, BhivarabaiSawant Polytechnic, Wagholi campus. The students also created the awareness about Hepatitis in college canteen, and xeroxcentre at Wagholi campus. Detailed information about prevention (immunization), symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and cure of hepatitis was covered in the awareness campaign. An awareness program on Hepatitis was also organized in auditorium hallfor the college students and staff members. Prof. Mrs. H. M. Nimje highlighted that 1,40,000 people die every year because of Hepatitis. Hence, it is necessary to create awareness and eradicate Hepatitis to live healthy life as well as making world “A disease free world”
MAHARASHTRA DIGIDHAN AWARENESS PROGRAM
“Maharashtra Digidhan Awareness Program” was conducted as per the directions and guidelines of Government of Maharashtra (CM Office) and Regional Directorate of Technical Education (RODTE), Pune, to create awareness about cashless transactions. The interactive session was organized on 20/07/2017 as a part of awareness program at Auditorium hall of JSPM Wagholi Campus. Dr. S. B. Wankhede, Principal JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, welcome the GuestsMr. Brijesh Kumar Tiwari, Chief Manage, Union Bank of India, Pune. Mr. Tiwari delivered lecture on importance and benefits of cashless transactions. He also highlighted the different modes of digital transactions. Prof. S. R. Wayal, Co-ordinator Maharashtra Digidhan Awareness Program delivered presentation on “Digital Payment Systems”for students in Lecture hall. He explained advantages and insisted for use of different digital payment systems in college as well as at Wagholi campus canteen and tea stall.
The “Tree Plantation” was carried out on 15th July 2017 by students and staff as a part of NSS Activity at Botanical Garden of JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, Wagholi, Pune. Prof. S. N. Gaikwad, NSS officer explained to students about proper way of tree plantation on this occasion. Dr. S. B. Wankhede, Principal, JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, Wagholi, Pune highlighted the need to celebrate tree plantation day every year and how this activity can help to enrich the medicinal plant gardern of the college. Prof. S. R. Wayal talked about ecological and environmental values of trees for human beings and animals.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
The yoga session was conducted on 21st June 2017 in college auditorium hall on the occasion of “International Yoga Day”. Prof. Mrs. H. M. Nimje guided to the students how to perform yoga systematically and explained the significance of practicing Yoga in leading a healthy life. Principal Dr. S. B. Wankhede interacted with the students and stressed on practicing Yoga to prevent disease and lead a healthy life. He also highlighted India being called as a capital of diabetes and hypertension in world and how Yoga can contribute to lower the cases of diabetes, hypertension and other life style related diseases. Dr. Wankhede also appealed that as a pharmacist it is the responsibility of all the students and staff members to create awareness about practicing Yoga in the society.

There’s no such thing as perfection, and life is not a race is to decide, without apology, to commit to the journey, and not to the outcome. In order to fulfill yourself, you have to forget yourself. In order to find yourself, you have to lose yourself. Follow your passion, stay true to yourself, never follow someone else’s path unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path then by all means you should follow that. The graduation ceremony ended with National Anthem.
Miss. RenukaCheke and Miss. PoonamDube participated in“AVISHKAR-2016” State level Inter University research project competition for Undergraduate, postgraduate and M. Phil/ Ph.D. students. They received 2nd rank at zonal level on the topic “Herbal Chewing Gum” in the “Agricultural and Animal Husbandry” category conducted by BCUD at C. T. Bora College, Shirur on 16th December 2016. The students and their mentors were congratulated for their success.
Industrial Visits were organized and scheduled for all classes of B. Pharm at different industries for Academic Year 2016-17 by Prof. S. A. Waghmare, Training & Placement Officer. Students actively participated and interacted with industry persons so as to get information on the latest technology/regulations and quality practices followed in the pharmaceutical industry.
