WORLD HEPATITIS DAY

“World Hepatitis Day” was celebrated on 28th July 2017 at JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research. The theme of awareness program was “ELIMINATE HEPATITIS”. Students created awareness in JSPM’s institutes like Imperial College of Engineering, BhivarabaiSawant Institute of Technology and Research, BhivarabaiSawant Polytechnic, Wagholi campus. The students also created the awareness about Hepatitis in college canteen, and xeroxcentre at Wagholi campus. Detailed information about prevention (immunization), symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and cure of hepatitis was covered in the awareness campaign. An awareness program on Hepatitis was also organized in auditorium hallfor the college students and staff members. Prof. Mrs. H. M. Nimje highlighted that 1,40,000 people die every year because of Hepatitis. Hence, it is necessary to create awareness and eradicate Hepatitis to live healthy life as well as making world “A disease free world”

MAHARASHTRA DIGIDHAN AWARENESS PROGRAM

“Maharashtra Digidhan Awareness Program” was conducted as per the directions and guidelines of Government of Maharashtra (CM Office) and Regional Directorate of Technical Education (RODTE), Pune, to create awareness about cashless transactions. The interactive session was organized on 20/07/2017 as a part of awareness program at Auditorium hall of JSPM Wagholi Campus. Dr. S. B. Wankhede, Principal JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, welcome the GuestsMr. Brijesh Kumar Tiwari, Chief Manage, Union Bank of India, Pune. Mr. Tiwari delivered lecture on importance and benefits of cashless transactions. He also highlighted the different modes of digital transactions. Prof. S. R. Wayal, Co-ordinator Maharashtra Digidhan Awareness Program delivered presentation on “Digital Payment Systems”for students in Lecture hall. He explained advantages and insisted for use of different digital payment systems in college as well as at Wagholi campus canteen and tea stall.

TREE PLANTATION

The “Tree Plantation” was carried out on 15th July 2017 by students and staff as a part of NSS Activity at Botanical Garden of JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, Wagholi, Pune. Prof. S. N. Gaikwad, NSS officer explained to students about proper way of tree plantation on this occasion. Dr. S. B. Wankhede, Principal, JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, Wagholi, Pune highlighted the need to celebrate tree plantation day every year and how this activity can help to enrich the medicinal plant gardern of the college. Prof. S. R. Wayal talked about ecological and environmental values of trees for human beings and animals.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

The yoga session was conducted on 21st June 2017 in college auditorium hall on the occasion of “International Yoga Day”. Prof. Mrs. H. M. Nimje guided to the students how to perform yoga systematically and explained the significance of practicing Yoga in leading a healthy life. Principal Dr. S. B. Wankhede interacted with the students and stressed on practicing Yoga to prevent disease and lead a healthy life. He also highlighted India being called as a capital of diabetes and hypertension in world and how Yoga can contribute to lower the cases of diabetes, hypertension and other life style related diseases. Dr. Wankhede also appealed that as a pharmacist it is the responsibility of all the students and staff members to create awareness about practicing Yoga in the society.

Ph.DAWARDED UNDER GUIDANCE OF DR. S. B. WANKHEDE

Dr. S. B. Wankhede, Principal, JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy and Research, has successfully guided a Ph.Dresearch scholar Prof. SantoshDighe, Assistant Professor, Pravara Rural College of Pharmacy, Loni Bk., from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. Respected, Dr. S. B. Kuchekar, Principal, Maharashtra Institute of Pharmacy, Pune, was also guided the research scholar. The title of research work was “Studies on Different Pharmacological Activities of OxalinCorniculata Linn”.Dr. V. Gopal, Principal, Mother Theresa Postgraduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences, Puducherry, was the external examiner for Viva-Voce exam of thePh.Dscholar, conducted on 3rd June 2017.

NSS CAMP

JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, Wagholi, Pune organized NSS Campfrom 31st Jan 2017 to 7th Feb 2017at Dongargaon, Taluka- Haveli, Dist-Pune. The studentsconducted various activities enthusiastically in the village.The total population of village was about 2560.The activitieslike tree plantation, health checkup, cleanliness, village survey etc.were conducted by students for overall development of the village and created awareness amongst the people of village about health issues.

GRADUATION CEREMONY

‘Graduation Ceremony’was conducted on 24th January 2017at JSPM’s Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, Wagholi, Puneas per the directions and guidelines of Savitribai Phule Pune University for Graduates of the college. Chief guestsDr. NeerajShende, Deputy Manager Serum Institute of India Ltd.; Mr. Nitin Gandhi, Director CGN Life sciences Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. S. N. Patil, Director Wagholi Campus inaugurated the function by Deep Prajwalan. The students were awarded with degree by the hand of Chief guests of the function.Chief guests urged the graduates on having some compassion for themselves as well as for others. There’s no such thing as perfection, and life is not a race is to decide, without apology, to commit to the journey, and not to the outcome. In order to fulfill yourself, you have to forget yourself. In order to find yourself, you have to lose yourself. Follow your passion, stay true to yourself, never follow someone else’s path unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path then by all means you should follow that. The graduation ceremony ended with National Anthem.

AVISHKAR

Miss. RenukaCheke and Miss. PoonamDube participated in“AVISHKAR-2016” State level Inter University research project competition for Undergraduate, postgraduate and M. Phil/ Ph.D. students. They received 2nd rank at zonal level on the topic “Herbal Chewing Gum” in the “Agricultural and Animal Husbandry” category conducted by BCUD at C. T. Bora College, Shirur on 16th December 2016. The students and their mentors were congratulated for their success.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Industrial Visits were organized and scheduled for all classes of B. Pharm at different industries for Academic Year 2016-17 by Prof. S. A. Waghmare, Training & Placement Officer. Students actively participated and interacted with industry persons so as to get information on the latest technology/regulations and quality practices followed in the pharmaceutical industry.

Fresher’s WEL-COME party organized by JSPM'S Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, Wagholi, Pune

Fresher’s WEL-COME party was organized by the students of JSPM’S Charak College of Pharmacy & Research, Wagholi, Pune on 14th August 2015 to welcome the newly admitted students of B. Pharm and M. Pharm.

All the seniors students participated in the activity and prepared a excellent program which included the fun, dances, singing activity. The games were also organized for the students.      Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher were declared based on their performance in the activity. The Mr. fresher was Mr. Potale Mayur and Mrs. Fresher was Miss Porab Minal . Principal  Dr. K.G. Baheti and staff  inaugurated the event by lighting the candle. Dr. Baheti K. G. addressed the students. In his address note he has mentioned the importance between the relation of senior and junior students  and emphasized that how this relation will be fruitful in their future life.

Baheti speaks on Impurity Profiling.Dr. Vishweshwar CEP, J.V.A.G., Pharma Consultant has given insights on How to Excel in Career in DRA. Dr. R. N. Purohit, BharatiVidyapeeth Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune has delivered a nice lecture on USFDA guidelines-Nasal Spray.
The seminar was enogurated by Dr. ravi Joshi, Mr. Vijay Swant, Director JSPM and Dr. S. G. Bhope, Principal College of Pharmacy, Shikrapur. More than 100 delegates from different part of Maharashtra were present during day of seminar

BCUD research projects funds from SavitribaiPhule Pune University

College fetched BCUD projects funds from SavitribaiPhulePune University worth rupees 5.40 Lac.
Dr. K. G. Baheti received 2.80 Lac funds for project entitled “Design, Synthesis and Pharmacological Evaluation of Therapeutically Active Hybrid Analogue of Sulphonyl Uears and Thiazolidine Dione as Antidiabetic Agents”.
Prof. Sandip S. Kshirsagar received 2.80 Lac funds for project entitled “HPLC Based Determination of Cytochrome P1A2 (CYP1A2) and Cytochrome P1B1 (CYP1B1)”.

EnvironmentalScience Tour (Date:27/12/2014)

As per the curriculum the college organized one day environmental tour to a place where students will understand the importance of environment. This year the college organized tour at Shivneri fort and Lenyadri Ganapati,Tal: Junnar, Dist: Pune.The 62 students of B. Pharmacy second year were enthusiastically participated. College organized the bus facility. The teaching staff Prof. Sunil Hadke, Prof. TrushalChorage. Prof. HemlataNimje were accompanied the students.

The Shivneri fort It is the birthplace of ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj, the founder of Maratha Empire. And Lenyadrirepresents a series of about 30 rock-cut Buddhist caves.

Students of Second Year B.Pharmacy have studied different types of rocks, rare plants species,awarenessabout how to maintain our environment clean, noise free, pollution free. The properties of different types of stone, and information about mountains have been collected.
